an unknown This unique and rare vintage art work features a painted wooden snake. Painted by Aboriginal artist Flora Mudeling from the Aboriginal communities in the Kimberley (Fitzroy Valley) in Outback Western Australia.

The wooden snake is hand cared from Australian native timber and then hand painted by local indigenous artist Flora Mudeling. A feature of the art work is the mix of colors, the different patterns and dot designs. These designs represent the Aboriginal culture of the Fitzroy Valley area

In Aboriginal culture people revere and feared the snake as the creator. There have been many Dreamtime stories around the snake, notably about the Rainbow serpent.
